Time flies! (Noting the time span between my previous post (Newspaper Roses) and the one previous from Feb. 2009!)
Looking back, Feb. 2009 was 1 month before Mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. Unfortunately, she passed over to the spiritual plane just 6 months later that year... Took me a while to get back into feeling good again.. (without the guilt). I found getting back into doing arts & crafts is healing. Though, I still miss her every day..and wish I could show her my creations.. I know she'll always be in my heart. (LOVE you MOM!)

Newspaper Roses

Inspired by March/April '11 issue of "Cloth Paper Scissors" magazine.. these cute roses are fun to make - and easy-peasy! Fabric versions of these puppies sell in stores for upwards of $20!I still need add some bling to the middles. I used the horoscope page. Painted one side hot pink and the other bright red. Glued some pink micro beads to some petals. Not sure I like the effect, as the newsprint is matte. The 2nd one (on the keychain) is really a tag from my handbag. The flat rectangle made a great base for gluing the petals.
Try these - they're fun and relaxing to make!
